Designing Dreams

AHT & Terri at reception, Appen NewsNP-LogoDesigning Dreams is a non-profit created to make a real difference in our community, one room at a time. Born of the belief that a beautiful room can be healing, AHT Interiors established Designing Dreams to re-do a room for an individual / family in emotional or physical crisis or an organization that serves them.

You nominate the candidates who may qualify for a room makeover valued at $20,000. Nominees may be entered by writing a 200-500 word essay about the person in need. If your candidate is chosen, AHT Interiors will team up with local and national vendors to create, plan and execute a complete room makeover from floor to ceiling. From paint to floor coverings, lighting to upholstered furniture, case goods to window treatments and accessories, we’ll take care of all the details.

Think of it as Extreme Room Makeover for the Atlanta Metro Area.

Designing Dreams goals…

  • BENEFIT the community by improving the lives of individuals.
  • CREATE an opportunity for local and national manufacturers, vendors and artists to participate as a team to affect real change in the lives of others.
  • ENCOURAGE local and national publicity to motivate designers across the country to draw on their talent to make positive changes in their communities.
  • LAUNCH a local campaign to INSPIRE national change.

The 4th Annual Designing Dreams Reception was a Success

To the right are some of the reception photos. We will also be posting updates about the progress of Michele Williams’ makeover on that page.

Thank you to all that attended the 4th Annual Designing Dreams reception that was held on Thursday, September 27th at the RBM-North Mercedes-Benz dealership. Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating Michele Williams being selected as the recipient of this year’s Designing Dreams makeover. We are proud to be able to provide her with a true home to enjoy!

Randy Powell and his team at RBM-North Mercedes-Benz provided an elegant locale for the evening while Chef Jarod and coordinator, Lisa Connor, of Hadco-Viking did an exceptional job creating exquisite hors d’oeuvres.

Congratulations to this year’s raffle prize winner, Bob Anderson. Bob and his wife, Susan, will be enjoying 4 nights in the Villas Sol Hotel & Beach Resort in Costa Rica. Thank you, Dianne and Mike Perry of HomeSeal for donating this nice prize.

And, last but certainly not least, we want to extend a special note of appreciation to Lorretta Marks for the beautiful music she played on her harp.
