Terri Wylie, a mother of three children and a recent widow, is a most deserving recipient of the Designing Dreams charitable room makeover this year. She is always cheerful and pleasant even in the face of the many obstacles she encounters daily. Many widows with children find themselves facing challenges in unknown territory. Terri, however, has other unusual circumstances which makes her situation even more overwhelming. Terri was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis a few years ago, and her husband , Kevin, who had been the “stay at home Dad” recently passed away. Kevin was a very integral part of Terri and the children’s lives. He was a volunteer at school, sports activities, Alpharetta Library and their neighborhood organization. He also became Terri’s full time caretaker when she was bedridden for 2 years. Kevin always made sure Terri felt comfortable and safe. Family always came first.
Terri is now not only battling MS; she is also suffering the loss of her husband. The children’s loss is unimaginable as their father was such a large presence in their lives. Through their loss and ensuing giref, there are some very real needs in their home. Redoing the master bathroom for Terri is a major priority and where the Designing Dreams team will focus their efforts.
Terri’s desire is to keep her family in their home She needs a restored, recreated master bathroom that is a safe place for her. Kevin may not be present to take care of Terri, but his main concern was for her comfort and safety. We look forward to providing her with a tranquil space beyond her expectations!
