We’re excited to show you a few photos from an ongoing, multi-room design project in one of our client’s homes. Today’s focus is their family room and fireplace.

There were several pieces already in this room that the family wanted to retain in addition to the window blinds. Their primary concern was the fireplace and a few large pieces in the room.

The client’s first request was to make their fireplace more attractive and usable. We found a beautiful slab of marble and had a hearth custom-built and installed. This updated the look of the fireplace as well as providing an area to sit close to the warmth of the fire.

We then modernized the fireplace accessories with a trio of artistic bowls and vases that brought out the color of the marble slab and provided interest and a focal point to the room.

The pieces that remained in the family room were a large, cozy leather chair in addition to a leather patchwork coffee table – both were in great shape and were family favorites.

The huge entertainment center made the room feel a bit crowded and made it look darker than the client desired. We replaced it with a long, low console table to provide for a large amount of storage while also allowing for the installation of a larger TV on the wall above.

The sofa and loveseat were replaced with a sturdy and comfortable sofa/chaise combo. We also added a wingback chair to provide balance to the leather recliner, as well as a couple of fun side tables (one of which reflected the marble texture) and an updated lamp. These touches help transform the room from dark and crowded to light and eclectic.

The client loved the modern look of their updated living room, proving that you don’t have to replace everything in a room to update its design!

Did you recognize the kitchen in this home? We redesigned their kitchen, too!

We’ll be back next time with the updates we made to this client’s entry foyer and sitting room. If you have questions in the meantime, please feel free to give us a call at (770) 887-7612.
