I worked with these clients in their first home in South Forsyth County almost 18 years ago.  We worked together to transform the interior of their entire home.

The family contacted me again when they moved to a new home in an equestrian community.  While the master suite was spacious, it was quite dark, and the existing paint colors did not complement my client’s style of décor.

Our first task was to establish a new color scheme that coordinated with the client’s favorite sofa located in the seating area of their suite.  We opted for tranquil, subtle shades of heathered plum, taupe and cream to create a soothing atmosphere where they could unwind at the end of a busy day.

Next, recessed lighting was added around the perimeter of the room and controlled by a dimmer switch – allowing the homeowners to control the amount of light needed. Old dingy carpeting was replaced with a plush cream-colored carpet (with soil and stain resistant qualities for the family pet!)

A new ensemble of luxury bedding combined with a washable coverlet balanced the desire for premium bed linens with the practical need for some of the items to be machine washable.

A unique bedside chest in capiz shell with a lacquered finish provided an easy to clean surface for her husband’s side of the bed :).  Bedside lamps in an appropriate style and scale, along with an interesting selection of artwork, completed the look.

My client shared with me that when her husband (who usually doesn’t get very involved with interior decorating decisions) came home that evening, he walked into the room and dropped his jaw.  He then walked out and had to walk back in; he couldn’t believe it was the same room!

The makeover gave their master suite a more relaxing, spacious, open and light feeling.  Now they fight over who gets to watch TV in there!
