This is Sherwin-Williams’ National Painting Week, a week dedicated to one of the most effective ways to revitalize the spaces in which we live and work.
Has it been a while since you’ve freshened your interior wall paint? Have you been considering a color change? Now is a great time to go ahead and make that happen! Color is one of the first things people notice when entering a room. Your room color showcases your personality and style; it makes a statement and sets the mood of your space. Color matters!
There are many exciting color schemes to choose from in order to achieve an updated look. If you’re in the mood for something new, try painting just an accent wall! Accent walls are very popular right now, and they can save a bit of time and money as well. Add a pop of color and personality behind a headboard or on a focus wall in the living room without committing to painting your entire room. Those soaring ceilings are beautiful, but they might be a bit difficult for you to reach – try a lower wall as your accent in this case.
Do you have bookshelves? Add color to your room and make your books and accessories stand out by simply painting the back of the bookshelves an accent color.
Because light changes throughout the day, paint colors will appear to change at various times of the day and evening. We always recommend purchasing a sample and trying the paint color on your walls in different parts of your home. This allows you the opportunity to observe the painted areas at different times of the day and evening and determine whether this is the color for you. It’s certainly more cost-effective than painting an entire room a color that you are not happy with in the end.
Head over to your nearest paint showroom and take a look at what all is out there! If you need help with your color schemes, call us and we’ll be happy to assist you with your decision.
