Q: Are there any fees involved?
A: NO.
Q: Will my nominee receive $20,000?
A: NO., your nominee will receive an entire interior room make-over, including products, materials and labor created and implemented by design professionals valued up to $20,000.
Q: Can I hand-write my essay?
A: NO.All essays must be submitted in typed format.
Q: Is there any travel involved?
A: If your nominee is chosen, you will be invited to the Announcement Party at a local establishment. It will be your responsibility to arrange your own transportation, but the nominee will be picked-up and escorted to the event.
Q: My nominee is a teacher? Are teachers eligible?
A: YES
Q: Can board members or employees of non-profit organizations submit applications?
A: YES, but the organization must be non-profit and they must serve individuals from the North Atlanta community who are in need.
Q: When will I hear from someone?
A: You will receive an email confirming receipt of your application and essay. If your nominee is a finalist, you will hear from someone on the Designing Dreams Team on or before July 10, 2010.
Q: Will my essay be judged on grammar and writing style?
A: NO. The Discovery Team will be looking for an authentic and emotional account of the nominees’ personal journey that led them to their current situation or the work of the non-profit to serve our community.
